RE:Canaccord's intentionsThis is one of the best post not appears on this board for a long time. I give it a 5 star.
Yes, I've gone through those days as mentioned and though I made money during the parabolic rise of the stock. As a retail investor I have been critical with so called brokerage analyst coverage and their target price. When you do DD and uncover what is beneath the show you almost can find conflict of interest to come to surface. They make a profit by selling their service to their client whether it be buying, shorting or arrange bought deal etc. We would take it with a grain of salt at most.
I will not average down but check closely with the price action and when an uptrend is established I could average up instead. There is still lots of time before the next QR in August. Anything can happen in between.

It was pretty obvious last spring with a rush of announcements and brokerage coverage that the company was looking to raise money and the stock soared to more than $11/share CDN. It was also well know among institutional investors that this included a secondary would occur (the infamous pump and dump by Harry and Kramer). This deal was priced in the context of the market and it was known that management wanted to liquididate some of their position and was accepted at the time. Fast forward a few months and the markets collapse and then the short attack and then delayed financials due to internal control issues and we are at a third of the price of the equity issue. It looks bad for anyone who went through it or played on the deal which is why virtually all investors including those on BNN bash it.
This is where Canaccord comes in, they did not live through that debacle and neither did their clients, they see this as a bottom and a true value opportunity. The analyst was clear that there is no need for equity so there are no immediate banking fees for Canaccord. Smart traders, sales people and clients of Canaccord can actually make some money here. Follow their lead.
