100 Tonnes of Cobalt Frozen on Ships Due to Bankruptcy
100 Tonnes of Cobalt Frozen on Ships Due to Bankruptcy CTT cobalt still stuck in transit following Hanjin Shipping bankruptcy
Around 100 tonnes of cobalt metal being shipped by Moroccan metal producer Compagnie de Tifnout Tiranimine (CTT) remain stuck on Hanjin Shipping vessels in Europe and Asia, following the shipping company’s bankruptcy in August, sources have told Metal Bulletin.
The world’s seventh largest container line announced on Wednesday August 31 that it had filed for rehabilitation after some of its creditors declined to extend it further financial support. The CTT cobalt is understood to have been stuck on the water and in ports in Spain, Busan and Singapore for around 20 days as it makes its way to customers
