RE:RE:down 9% now, market didn't like the newsI see a great potential for this technology to help reduce greeenhouse gases. Nitrous oxide is a GHG that is 300 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Currently, there are lots of N2O emissions from agricultural activities due to the over-fertilization of croplands. There are currently attempts in Canada and other countries of the would to help farmers obtain carbon offsets for reducing nitrous oxide emissions. For example, in Alberta, the
NERP protocol was recently approved and with $50 per tonne carbon pricing in the horizon, one can see there is potentially tens of millions of dollars up for grabs. One can pro-rate these figures to hundreds of million dollars within Canada and billions of dollars globally. It is a lucrative opportunity, as long as countries continue to strive to meet their Paris GHG obligations.
