It looks like Iamgold will get Cote Lake going from their "positive" PEA, link below. But this project is more like the huge open pit low-grade (~1 gpt) Malartic mine. It requires a lot of money up front to get going (over $1B). The mill is more than 10x that of Sigma (29,000 tpd compared to 2400tpd). And, the payback period is much much longer (over 5 years compared to just over 1 year for ICG Triangle Project with a Capex ~$80M).
Hence, the low CapEx high-grade UG operation at Triangle with Sigma Mill available would be my pick over Cote Lake OP mine, anytime.
In addition, in term of location, Cote Lake is in the middle of nowhere (over 100km SW of Timmins), so the Iamgold would have to sort out workers working/accommodation issues, compared to having the town of Val d'Or next door for ICG.
