Surge Energy Inc (Alberta) T.SGY

Alternate Symbol(s):  ZPTAF | T.SGY.DB.B

Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It offers exposure to two of the five conventional oil growth plays in Canada: the Sparky and SE Saskatchewan. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

RE:RE:RE:Which will double first? SGY from $2.15 or BTE from $3.58?

RE:RE:RE:Which will double first? SGY from $2.15 or BTE from $3.58?I would not rush into Torc, remember it was Torc who bought the southeast Sask. core proprty from Surge in  2015 and that property isn't worth right now what Surge sold it for when oil prices were in the 60's. Paul said at the time it was their least profitable property. Surge bought it from Long Run the previous year and they were having trouble making it work at $90 oil.
Also Canada Pension Board  owns a lot of Torc shares and they get their divy in shares on a drip which helps Torc's cash position but dilutes the share base. If oil prices don't  recover much in 2018 the pension board could easily decide to cap their losses  and sell out and that would be a pile of expletive for Torc holders.
Earlier posters were asking about Cardinal Energy if it was a good buy now and I said stay away because I thought their land base was week and sure enough they did a huge share offering to aquire new property later and look at it now.
Another one like that was Northern blizzard with some big shareholders getting their diviy in shares until the big guys wanted out and the share price  fell, now the company is called Cona, like in conehead.
