Accucaps has:

Two Plants

500 workers between two sites

Previously owned by Apotex Inc. Canada's largest pharmaceutical business with sales more than 1 billion a year and 7,500 workers worldwide

Accucaps Inc. was sold to Catalent Inc. in Novemeber 2016

Apotex said in a press release the deal “will substantially complement Catalent’s global OTC and prescription pharmaceutical softgel capabilities,” adding that Accucaps’ more than 500 employees in both facilities will be joining Catalent’s global network of 11 softgel technologies facilities.

Geographically and from a business decsion it makes sense. Accucaps was taken over by Catelent in November 2016. Catelent promotes themselves as the worlds #1 drug development, delivery and supply partner for drugs development.

Catelant is a global provider of drug delivery technology and development solutions and operates 33 locations across five locations. , producing more than 70 billion doses annually for nearly 7,000 customer products.

I'm curious if the takeover of Accucaps by Catelant was a strategic long term business decsion to line themselves up with a growing company "Aphria" in the the medical marijuana space?

Just thinking out loud.
