How Much Gold

How Much GoldFrom Novo’s NR, the bulk sample of mineralized conglomerate was collected from a 2x2 meter exposure of bedrock at the bottom of a half-meter deep trench.

The dry weight of the bulk sample was 542.3 kilograms.  2 posters on Novo calculated at depth of 0.217 meters and .5625 meters based on the weight of rock.  Don't know which is right but the calculation can be done for both.

The bulk sample produced 2 ounces of gold.  Assume the bulk sample amount of gold holds for all of Purdy's reward.  Estimates of conglomerate thichness is 12 meters.  Purdy's reward is estimated at 1500 meters.  Assume the conglomerates average 50 meters wide, then the gold content calculation is:

12 meters x 50 meters x 1500 meters divided by .217 meters x 2 ounces equals 8.3 million ounces.

Or using the other depth estimate you get:

2 meters x 50 meters x 1500 meters divided by .5625 meters x 2 ounces equals 3.2 million ounces.

All guess work until drilling is complete.
