Article--more DRC violence/cobalt impact
Article--more DRC violence/cobalt impactWe just recently have seen that cobalt ore has been banned from export from the DRC. This is a common thing for developing countries to do to add more value added/higher paying jobs at home rather than in the exploiting country or elsewhere. Understandbly, DRC isn't interested in just being a resource colony irrespective of government. But none of this will be the biggest cobalt concern for the next two years! And that is because the current "administration" plans to rule during at least that period. You can be sure this will anger the "rebels" and that the already growing violence will intensify with all that will mean for maintaining cobalt production. Over that time, more secure and stable source countries will become all the more important--EV and other industries MUST have cobalt. And what country does that bring to mind? And what company in that country is most advanced in moving into primary cobalt production? Why in the hell do you think these sp manipulators are working so hard at picking up your shares on the cheap? As the volume shows, this isn't a meaningful "selloff"--I just follow ECSIF and volume in keeping close to the 90-day average. Be smart and maybe play their games (and make some money) and pick up other easily-panicked shareholders' shares.
