Maybe when she referred to the number of public biometrics companies out there she was referring to companies that actually had a real commercial product and business . Don't get me wrong, HCI has a great idea and a great concept and if realized it could be good. It's just that a concept is all it is at this point. There isn't a product yet, there are no "actual" dealings with INS and some of the other parties mentioned. So, IMHO, any future success for this company in the area of Biometrics is still quite a ways off. Anyway, I thought Dianne's article was an interesting story about a real product in real application in the field of Biometrics. Maybe a model of success for other companies trying to get into the industry.
