Ron,
after one year, canceling  the dividend would also not be a good signal, I'd rather see both combined, a small div (like now) and a and a well-considered repurchase. Also, I'm still underwater to, but buy a small amount every month, so a few cents brings me back to the green. Some good quarters are now on the horizon, so I'm still confident.
