RE:RE:A Millennial Full of Hot AirIf Millennial2000 is reading, this is what an honest criticism looks like. I'd encourage you to read Digitel's post.
Digitel, it's a fair point, but I'd point out in response:
1. The anesthesiologist or CRNA is going to have far greater comfort with the idea of colonoscopies because it's such a big part of their lives, and they're just used to the idea of it. I can imagine a lot of people just saying that they'd prefer deep sedation because they don't like the idea of experiencing a colonoscopy.
2. Of course, Cologuard is the bigger risk. But again, management can shift the business in other directions if Cologuard becomes problematic. They can redirect the anesthesiologists towards other business types (e.g., cardiology), and I've confirmed that it's not difficult in DD. Ask around with local anesthesiologists in your area...if you come back with a different answer, I'd love to hear it.
And of course, management could shift out of anesthesiology all together. Without revealing too much, I can name 2-3 medical specialties off the top of my head that are also very fragmented and where practices can be purchased at cheap multiples. I know other longs have said they don't like this idea, but I actually really do. If Cologuard becomes a real problem, such diversification would protect the Company.
