PE and book price seemed too good to be true. Been painful watching this retreat 18 percent off its high. I made the classic mistake of unbalancing my portfolio and am paying the price (short term). I hate to admit it, but am now considering selling about a third of my AC to generate a loss against what were stellar gains for the year. I guess from a tax planning perspective this is an okay strategy but my preference would have been to pay capital gains tax on incredible gains. Silly me.
Hindsight is the story of this stock, surely everyone has made a decision at one point or another with AC that they kick themselves for. I sold off completely around $16 and had to jump back in around $20. Funny you bring up tax-loss selling, I have twice sold AC shares for this exact reason in December. At least you have 6 weeks to make an informed decision if you do.
