- create “sentiment”... leveraging social media/internet (fake) news... rumour, fear, negative consequences, personal impact...
- take advantage of the situation
Done in politics and business everyday to get people/organizations what they want.
Think about it...
Crazy to think given the location and nature of business there were reporters around with ability to take numerous different pictures...when the city didn’t even know it was going to happen. FBI... doesn’t generally invite the press along...where did the story come from? What site picked it up first? These sites generally don’t create their own news... these (fake) news sites generally pick up stories and repost...where did this come from?
social media attack... we all witnessed it. If you were on multiple boards you saw the same thing. Twitter lit up, Facebook, and several stock blogs.... can all be done by a social posting bot.... 1account posts to several sites....several accounts Create they frenzy.
person who orchestrated.... sits back and awaits the outcome... which could be multiple scenarios given fluidity of social reactions and unpredictable emotions.. either way, the instigator, will take advantage of the situation in whichever way it suits their needs.
today...or Monday...someone made a lot of money!!...
wow! We are a connected world... and very influenced by the 5 seconds we snatch a glance at our phone 1000 times/day. In general we, society, believe what we read online is true.... our phones influence our everyday decisions and honestly run our lives. Examples of what happened here happen everyday around the world. Elections, business, communications, entertainment....Teams of people are paid to sit at their computer and enter data...create reviews...influence blogs...provide ratings... this is a multi billion dollar industry that hides behind the information it handles and makes money!
It’s the world we live in...no sense getting upset. Just important to learn.
