RE:First post

RE:First postMy first post as well.  I was not surprized to see they announced a shutdown of the Rice Lake mine but I am disappointed that as recently as Nov 9th during the Q3 review they actually increased guidance for Canada by 6,000 ounces.  Half way through Q4 someone knew that the guidance for Canada was unrealistic.  Also interesting that they didn't see it material enought to announce the Bison acquisition on their own.  The Bison properties are part of the same greenstone belt and in general proximity to the Rice Lake mine but are years and $$$$ away from providing a meaningful incremental feed to the Rice Lake mill.

It is more likely that they are cushioning the market for poor Q4 results.

It will be very interesting to hear about the progress at Hollister.  Great Basin saw declining tons and grade at the mine prior to their demise.  Waterton purchased Hollister out of bankruptcy and subsequently sold it to Klondex for $80M.  Waterton are bottom feeders that are still active in Nevada so what did they learn about Hollister that they decided not to keep the assets?  Will there actually be sufficent reserves remaining at Hollister to bridge a development to the Hatter Graben prospect?  If not Klondex annual production could begin to decline in coming years.
