Anon2015 wrote: Maximus, you are inspired today!  On the whole, Canada has not been terribly bold in seizing the initiative in economic matters.  Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is a recent example that we let slip away, and dithering on pipelines has cost Canadians billions of dollars.  Quebec is already a world leader in hydro, and their cheap power rates are a big part of what gives NMX.TO a cost edge.  Business and government leaders need to have vision to build something bigger and world-leading.  I for one have been speaking out to Guy and others about this over the years (e.g. building and promoting a vision and expertise along with Hydro-Quebec).  We all need to do our part to make it happen.

What you are writing here makes a lot of sense.  Nemaska is leveraging the advantages given its location in Quebec where power is cheap and green.  Finding ways to leverage HQ is another thing that makes a lot of sense.  I was fortunate enough to tour the battery organization of Hydro-Quebec twice in the last year.  They have 65 staff on the payroll.  These guys make li-ion from scratch, they have a JV with Sony for manufacturing container size li-ion batteries for the grid.

Nouveau Monde Graphite is another one that is trying to leverage these natural advantages as per their location.  In their case, they are so well located that they can think of being able to achieve the lowest environmental footprint of the graphite industry.
