RE:RE:Can someone humor me for a second?Canopy is NOT buying APH, COOR/molson is (well a big chunk anyway) COOR already has one of their best guy in place.
Canopy money will probably be used to develop edibles/drinkables that will come into play big time 1 year from now. probably a chunk will be used to finance Livewell's edible/drinkable (they are already linked by canopy river

At this point I am not sure this deal would go through.
There is a *lot* of bad blood between Bruce & Vic which has spilled over to the stock boards in the past. (Part of it stems from Vic having to sell their US holdings because other LPs cried foul that this was against the rules of listing on the TSX.)
Even just recently when APH annouced they had some deal /
partnership in South Africa - in an interview when Bruce was asked asked about it, with a twinkle in his eye said: "That's an interesting play."
Next thing we know two days later Canopy announces they had already bought out a
South African play! So I see all the other MJ LPs as mostly late to the party and doing their best to catch up. But that's the thing about competition - never ever count them out. They are always coming for you - so keep moving to stay ahead.
I am not sure what other value diluting and paying for another big LP can actually bring to Canopy at this point. Maybe the smaller ones.
Vic has already said that time will come when the smaller players realizing they are loosing money and can't compete are going to be had for cheap. Which I also agree with. Sooner rather than later. So just wait for it to happen and scoop them up for cheaper - but only if they are worth it.
Of course I never believed Tweed way back when would buy out Bedrocan Canada - but they did. I always thought Bed. was too buttoned down and strictly medical to be bought out.
Well lookit that - years later they proved it by severing ties with Canopy. (Well I say good riddance! After so much time they still have not pushed the ip as far as Canopy is doing now with MJ phase trials and full on medical DIN push and so on.)
So Vic and Bruce might shake hands and make up - you never know.
Anyway - just some thoughts off the top of my head while I lounge around in pjs today.

Let's assume a deal is made by Canopy using about 800 million cash and the rest of the APH shares getting 0.5 shares of Canopy leaving about 300+ million in the bank for both companies combined. I can't seem to find an issue with this and Canopy/Aphria combo would absolutely steamroll every other player. Both players are set to make huge sales in the first 1-3 years as well. Probably just really stupid dreaming and a lot of factors I'm probably missing but I'd love to hear why this could be good or not.
