Privatization in Ontario might be a very good thing for consumers and individual retailers in the long run but I suspect it might take much longer to get going than the original LCBO deal which already had built in infrastructure. So the idea of hearing information about contracts early next week seems unlikely to me, but your guess is as good as mine at this point !

The other problem I see is that in an open market like this, producers will have to work even harder to get their product placed because there will be less blanket supply agreements such as the MOUs recently announced in BC and Alberta.

It will certainly be interesting to watch the outcome as it unfolds though. Meanwhile...Round and Round she goes, who gets the contracts nobody knows.
