RE:RE:RE:TOO FUNNY !! The BASHER " trader520 " talking " Us "Hi Styles76 and others,

Here come my 10 cents one more time....this time not about Jetlines either.

Flair may or may not have been pushed out of YHM by Swoop, but they have decided to move. I believe this will serve them well in the future. Flair's biggest issue is that their -400's can't do direct flights across the country without a stop. That is where their 'per leg' pricing policy also bites. They need NG's (or A320), to go direct, because that is what Swoop is offering. They can delay getting airplanes with more direct range for a while, as long as Swoop stays in YHM, and doesn't move to YYZ. In other words, Flair is the only game in town for now. However, if they wait too long to get Ng's or similar for those direct flights, then one day Swoop (or Jetlines), could enter YYZ offering direct flights....ugh...now Flair would be in a bad place, with nowhere to go. They better work on NG's or something soon. NG's are getting cheaper, now that the MAX is being delivered.

As for Transat, they have done very well with their connecting flights from YVR, YYC and YUL, to offer people more options and an inhouse solution so the people don't take WJ or AC toYYZ, and then TS to Europe. Trouble for them is, one late connecting flight delays four or five europe flights.....and vice versa, one late Europe flight delays all others on the connecting flight. They could add more flexibility if they codeshared with Flair, and capture a larger market too.

What's good for Transat is that at the moment, the ULLC seems to have captivated everyone's attention....AC and WJ have a new direction to look at (the lucrative domestic market....for now...lucrative)....that will take the heat off of Transat....I think they will do well while all this ULLC stuff plays itself out.

And yes, I do own Transat stock. Not because I think they will be around forever....to make money when I sell.

Cheers and GLTA
