Torstar vs. Thompson Reuters

Torstar vs. Thompson ReutersIt's amazing to me how insignificant that The Toronto Star and Torstar have become compared to another media type company , Thompson Reuters , which also trades on the Toronto Stock exchange . TRI has just announced a 9 BILLION dollar share buyback . All I am asking for Torstar is a 9 MILLION dollar share buyback or one one thousand of what TRI is buying back . While they are doing it , I would divest the holding in Vertical Scope for whatever they can get . Why would you want an investment in a company with negative organic growth ? Sounds like more write offs to me . It's so frustrating to see this company trading at an all time low and knowing that we have no vote to change anything . I am noticing that all the papers are getting thinner all the time ( Star , Globe , Sun , National Post ) . If Fairfax wasn't a major holder , I would have sold out ages ago . I suspect that there will be major changes in the Toronto newspaper scene over the next couple of years .
