Corruption caseJigsaw made a good post. I think there is no question of the closiing of Escobal permanently, even though it seems that the people are against the mining in general. The question here is WHAT the Company needs to do to stay alive in Guatemala. Xinca is just an excuse.
Corruption is integrated in the country, government, society. Constitutional Court is no exception. It will take time but the Company has to win. In a proper way, or otherwise it will always be shut down at the mercy of whomever. I don't think that CC would like Escobal shut. Government too.
That is not the gain here. Some would like to profit here and that's all, and they should not. So the Escobal is closed.
Time will tell. But I think eventualy, TAHO wil win. Gold price then will not be today's.
