"Mining is critical for most modern activities; the mining
and minerals industry produces fundamental elements
for transportation, building and construction, commu-
nications, consumer goods, medical equipment and ad-
vanced technology. Extracting resources from the earth is
one of the world’s oldest human endeavors"
Which means dirty mining processes, increasingly made as clean and friendly to the
environment as possible are essential to civilization and can’t be stopped on indigenous
peoples’ ground of polyanna claims of pristine nature maintaining. It just can’t be done
and still have advancing civilization.
Also that little people, like the indigenous Xinca, that though have to be granted citizens
rights, (and those were hard won too, and still being won in south and latin america),
they can't be won by UN's fiat (say so) who are an outside nation entity.
Would that all rights can be won by fiat say so and immediately, but they can’t.
And in line with that, backward indigenous people can't hold up civilization by being
nations within nations. It puts the nations in a divide and conquer footing and is probably
why the banksters and corporations that dominate the UN too, got the UN to create such
a world policy to make indigenous people nations in nations and leveragable and
manipulatable that way. And twisted the nations of the world on pain of financial and
economic leverage and penalties to go along with it.
