Surge Energy Inc (Alberta) T.SGY

Alternate Symbol(s):  ZPTAF | T.SGY.DB.B

Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It offers exposure to two of the five conventional oil growth plays in Canada: the Sparky and SE Saskatchewan. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

RE:ouch!

RE:ouch! What's going here is the market is likely pricing in no dividend increase at this time until oil pricng settles  down which is understandable. Most oil stocks are near or creating new 52 week lows so no suprises here  for  Surge. What bothers me even more then Surge sp falling is the totally bizarre situation going with Torc Oil and Gas. For some unfathomable reason our Canada Pension Fund bought 60 million shares in it 4 to 5 years ago at an average price of $8 to $9, Torc is now about 5 bucks. So the fund has lost a staggering quarter of a billion dollars for this investement alone! The shares collect no dividend in cash but participate in a drip fpr more shares, this has saved Torc millions in cash payouts but there is no way out of this mess for the fund unless Torc gets sold, how do to you put 60 million shares up for sale for one company. I hope to collect my cpp in a few years but things like that makes me want to rant.
