RE:Why can't Canada have a referendum on pipeline? A major issue and problem now is that we have power tripping activists in the Canadian judicial system who apply the law to fit their own personal agenda and bias. Like the female judge that recently killed the KMP expansion citing not enough consultation with the Indians. Social justice at work .We all know these people have proven to be unreasonable for eternity and don’t care about the national interests of all Canadians .This pipeline is essentially dead in the water with the present political leadership. Even if a referendum was passed the issue would still come down to the courts. We’re screwed.
