Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Speculation Fatigue

Speculation FatigueNovember was nasty.  APHA averaged mid 16s the first full week, mid 12s the next, then mid 11s the next and we finished off in the mid 10s.

All the while some on this board have been speculating about various deals with various alcohol or tobacco based companies.  Big pharma got in the mix as well.

Despite all this speculation there has not been one NR from APHA since 8 Nov.

As much as I would love to hear about a deal, I have switched my thinking (for sanity’s sake) to the long term prospects of this company.  I know HC will eventually have to approve IV’s operations and that Jan’s financials will be promising.  Production will ramp up, and APHA has the lowest projected cost per unit.  I have gone from thinking this will shoot to the mid to high 20s on a deal to hoping HC approvals and decent financials will get it to the low to mid teens.

On the bright side, yesterday was the first day in a while where I was not checking the stock price every 10 minutes...more like once an hour.  I am going to work on getting that to a few times a day.

Good weekend.  Glad I am not fearful of 4 pm.
