Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Y2K

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Y2KMy view is Aphria has enough going for it that a "deal" is not necessary for long term success.

That being said, I also believe partnerships with alcohol/tobacco/pharma are inevitable, even if they are just supply deals like Aphria has with Shoppers Drug Mart.  For management to not lock up some deals in the longer term would be unwise.  But I have stopped expecting anything soon (though I would not be upset if we were surprised by something...but not a stink bid).

I can see how a deal was necessary for Canopy Growth as it was in a severe negative cash flow situation.  Aphria is one of the few with positive cash flow.  Much is made about a 60:1 P/E...compare it to WEED or TLRY.

I am bothered by the pending Health Canada approval of Phase IV.  I believe it was supposed to happen last month.  Aphria has an obligaton to present shareholders, and an explanation for the delay is material news that should be released.  Not all news has to be good news, and perhaps the PR department needs a lesson in this concept.

It's impossible to stop people from speculation, especially when Vic himself has been hinting about it.

Themanfromcomo wrote: @40Baggs.... I disagree..... Aphria could have told the market that HC has done their inspection... However they did not. Now you have to ask yourself why not? My answer to that is there is a deal in the works and they can't put out news release... 12-6 Is the date that think we will have a big announcement.
