RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Bernard & Echo
RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Bernard & EchoEcho- per the AJIC Article..
Only 3 scopes tested with the half-cyle and all 3 scopes were manually cleaned and no presence of simulated biofilm.
Only 2 scopes were tested with "simulated biofilm" for sterilization. Repeat, only 2...
Only 3 scopes were tested after actual "in-field use" and all three were manually cleaned and followed device manufacturer's recommendations and then sent to be tested at TSO3.
How do you make your claim VP$ can terminally sterilize without manual cleaning by only testing 2 scopes in "simulated settings" with "simulated biofilm"?? 2 scopes, COME ON, MAN!!
Also, the Snyder study you keep referencing and the one referenced in the AJIC study. The HLD/ETO tested scopes there was NO manual pre-cleaning and the scopes used were recalled duodenoscopes that have been taken out of circulation. Why did TSO3 manually clean their scopes before ONLY testing 3 scopes from in-clinic use and why did they use the redesigned duodenoscopes and not the recalled ones??
I quote from Snyder "It is also possible that increased contamination seen in the HLD/ETO arm may be related to the increased handling of the duodenoscopes in that arm.", "Therefore, future studies may need to broaden the outcomes measures to include no only culture results, but some measure of biofilms as well", and "CDC recommends 2 persons perform duodenscope cultures. In our study duodenoscope cultures were performed by 1 study personnel, and this increased the possibility of environmental contamination of the study cultures"
You believe the quality of these studies?
I believe the rising of the tide too, especially given the announcement today... But, you have YET to sell me on the technology. Can't believe these are the studies they are claiming so much off of..
