Your post raises an interesting point astutein. I had interpreted that damages includes both the past ($145M) and the future. Your post infers that the $145M is a given. I had not made that connection and interpreted that the new trial (if it happens) will focus on both pre and post original jury findings. Costs and interest are also to be finalized but that will happen after the retrial - and that number, as you point out, could also be significant. One way to view today's market (+0.12) is that this basically equals the $10M remittur that Apple has offered. Further upward movement after investor have had a chance to read and process the court's ruling will speak volumes.
Management has stated that they believe the IP and patent package may bring in over a half billion USD in the future (I believe they state >$750M USD in their investor presentation). Their current cash burn rate is roughly $20M annually. With IRD running on fire and the other segments doing well, they should be both significantly contributing to the bottom line and soon. This is currently a $3+ stock all day long with much larger upside eventually.
