In theory it sounds great but the last 5 or more years on the Venture Exchange the idea of being diversified has not been a winner -- the marijuana field may be an exception -- which I have stayed away from. All my diversity in small tech, bio, pharma, etc. have all performed exactly the same way. They mostly have gone nowhere. Look at the index over the last 9 years -- where has it gone? There are a few exceptions but I have not been fortunate enough or 'lucky' enough to find them.
It's like the lottery, there's usually a winner and it's pretty much always someone else.
For a major stock market it should not be as bad as it has been.
I don't disagree, TSXV is pretty much dead. I did have some tweed, supreme and others that made me quite a bit more than the bank ever would and easily offset any losses on the others that I owned.. so emerging markets might be better off to play venture/micros. GGI was also initially in a small portfolio of my junior metals that I really like but yes,, it may be more luck these days but if this new poster asking for advice wants to dabble tsxv and TLT, I can only recommend spreading investments out a bit. Don't want crazytrader scolding us.
