The property covers a total of 21 mineral leases covering an area of approximately 4,800 hectares (ha).

If the project was green lighted tommorow it would be 10 years before it produced 1 carat of diamond. Diavik might be winding up in 2025 but there are several other pipes in the Lac de Gras area that can be developed. The James Smith band wants the development to go forward, the band realizes there is no royalty stream from the mine coming to them.
