RE:Newmont/barrick Impacting?

RE:Newmont/barrick Impacting?
My thought: no matter which way the Newmont cookie crumbles, the resulting company will have a very full plate and the toehold stock positions will all be FOR SALE. In Newmont's case, that means Continental Gold, Shore Gold, Goldstrike and TMAC positions will be looking for new homes. The 2 that interest me are CNL and TMR.

NEM owns 32.2 million shares or 28.6% of TMR, just behind the 30.7%  held by Resource Capital Funds. I maintain that if Agnico wants to own the Arctic, here's a heaven-sent opportunity. NEM will be willing to sell to anyone with a pulse and you have to think that RCF is looking for an exit strategy. Why wouldn't Agnico or some other player anxious to own a greenstone belt buy the whole enchilada?

Same thinking applies to Continental. There, I would be looking for the buyer to be an Australian co. wanting to become an international player. Continental is at least short $100 million to finish construction and I would guess they will be out of cash by May or June. Their first debt repayment is due July 2020. Interesting times!
