RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Couple of questions Form, that is a brilliant observation. End of day, I would suspect that Farm would be planted with seedlings, possibly some by seed. It would take minimum 2 weeks for seed to germinate, so seedlings would shorten the growing season requirement. Nice thing about greenhouse or indoor growing for seedlings, is plants can be grown regardless indoor or outdoor.
In terms of ground preparation, if low percentage of clay fields should be easily enough plowed to break up last years weeds, then disc’ed to chop up tufts of sod and weeds. Once weeds and sod tufts are decomposed from sun and weather, 2 to 3 weeks, then fields can be cultivated and prepared for planting. It would be a large scale job to get seedlings into the ground, labour intensive and would have to happen within one to two weeks. Management of crop would require daily observation, weeding and irrigation if dry.
I have experience with corn seed planting, but pot seeds are like radish seed, small, and i’m Not aware of automated planting systems for this, but i’m Thinking there must be something out there
Lots to learn here, i’m sure 48North has a plan.
