Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

SPY

SPY
So what caused the dump and recovery this morning. I know it wasnt a high volume day so that puts it in context. But SPY started out okay, it wasnt until about 10:30EST that it started to decline. So was the APHA decline right from the open a side effect of the disappointing TRST earnings report? There is concern that SPY will start to pull back sometime maybe soon as its pushing up against its all time high. If that happens it will hurt the Canadian MJ sector . But wouldnt it also hurt the American MJ sector even more because those companies are not as well established? The SAFE banking bill proceeding will help them but a SPY pullback might hurt them more as well. The cannabis industry is in its infancy and will be for quite a while. But its going to steadily expand. The annual sales of 2019 are going to be insignificant compared to annual sales in 2025 for example. Prohibition has held back medical experimentation and so its full medical applications are as of yet unknown. And the edibles/beverage market hasnt even started yet either. The industry will be huge. Hopefully the Canadian companies continue to thrive as it becomes more global.
