I agree that for those who have decided to NOT take part in the rights offer, they should seriously consider close their position BEFORE the Record date (because 6-7 cents may be a better price for the near term (i.e. after the record, before/after the R/S, before any positive material news), if they really don't want to trust the company with any of their investment $.

With regards to your second point, I cannot quite follow your logic (i.e. why wait if you want to raise money to buy the rights or why sell only if sp is above 3 cents after the record date news), but I trust that you know what suits your situation the best. 

I agree that buying the maximum rights available to you will have the most impact on reducing your cost average, regardless your feelings about it.   Good stuff.
