RE:RE:Tesla to ensure Battery Material SupplyWell what is everyone thinking today ??
My thoughts and there are just my thoughts at present.
After seeing yesterdays post that Elon Musk might be considering taking up mining ...
I have given it a bit of thought standing behind Elon.. and wondering what he is thinking..?
Considering that China and companies has control of major chunk of the World's Lithium Carbonate / Hydroxide almost all coming from Austalia or the Lithium Triangle.
So what is available in the North American market to guarrentee Elon enough supply for the next ten or twenty years or so.... Yes there is Abermarle if they want to pay their market price...
Or they might acually consider mining their own or becoming a partner in a long living world class project.
Half a billion dollars might actually buy decent chunk of any worthwhile project.. and give him an big edge in the price competition for future battery making materials.
So what would 25,000 ton a year look like with a world market price of say a comfortable $11,000 per ton... with a cost of production of say $4000.00 per ton.. This seems like an appriximate $7000 spread here.. and with over say, a 20 conservative years, and at 25,000 tons per year.. that spread would be in the area of $3,500,000,000 .
So the question that comes to me is...... What is Elon thining.. ??
