RE:dividendWhy would VET trim the divi ? Presently theres no debt service issue that would require diverting funds from divi payout  .  The lower share price doesnt mean VET pays out more cash.

The cash flow from operations in Canada and Europe covers the capex , debt payments and dividend payout . 

The chairman  Lorenzo Donadeo owns 3 million VET shares  . Thats 8 million $ a year . 
Thats how to get super rich.
