For all buyers or sellers that don't see market depth on a stock, MM can influence direction to a certain point, depending where (price level ) and size of bid and ask the MM will show up.
On the 25th we all knew the stock was going south......wide gap between bid and ask. Their role is to get transactions going by putting a bid and ask closer together.....example: When they do this with $0.01 apart on 100 shares while sellers are at 2000sh and buyers at 1000sh at $0.10 apart.... I don't feel it is effective but also pretty sure of the direction. The market makers should trade to each other or themselves qties that are in line with real sellers buyers.
On that single day price went down $0.33, putting SP 3.6% under NAV......
