They do absolutely nothing and provide no protection for investors whatsoever!
This is a big part of the problem.  When is the last time the SEC has investigated or even charged a company!  If the SEC was regulating and acting, companies would be more respectful of the rules.... they are laughed at!

folks, don’t for a moment think the SEC is watching your back.... they aren’t even noticed and have not impact on anything.  Oh they do waste our money by existing.
