RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:I wonder Who WillSo your logic is that we don't have to stop polluting here in Canada because we aren't near as bad as other countries.
How about develop a clean energy market and technologies in Canada and then educate and sell to others in the world. perCapita is still one of the worlds biggest polluters.
Do the shift and become a world leader and build your economy at the same time..
When Climate change really starts to disrupt you are going to have a dillema everywhere not just Canada but it will be a issue for Alberta and Sask too ie: Agricultural Farmers seeing massive crop failures on the one side and the Oil and Gas industry on the otherside building more pipelines and tar sands facilities. I think I would rather have food to eat than driving my car if I had to make a choice. I can power my car with alternatives but if nothing grows then we are all up the creek no matter where you live.
Old industries have help build the country and supply government revenues but so will alternatives. It will take investment but the payoff in the end is something sustainable that our grandchildren can inherit and continue to build on.
Truth is needed on both sides of the conversation as we can argue back and forth until we are blue in the face( delay and deny) but then we will all end up facing the same fate. Unfortunately climate change will not go away and the population is still growing putting more strain on finite reources.
