Mediawatcher is the man hereAs a sharehodler from 2014, I was lucky enough to get out in the $2-2.50 range but still lurk around here so clearly I do have motivation to come back in.
Mediawatcher is correct. I interpret it the same way. Also if you look back through his posts he clearly knows this industry very well and has an excellent handle on what ails Torstar.
Junior, you are more recent here I think.
My valuations would also line up with Mediawatcher. The families with the voting stock know this also so their strategy would have to be a go private attempt to steal the company. With Watsa around that becomes difficult to do. OSC rules require the majority of minority to agree to a go private if the voting families attempted this. Good rule to protect those B shareholders.
My view is at 60 cents times about 80 million shares the market cap of this company is $48 million. For this year Torstar is going to be at about $460 in revenue. So now we are trading at 10 percent of revenue. In bankruptcy cases judges usually award the winning bidder at a level of 10 -15 cents on dollar of revenue so Torstar today is trading at a bankrupcy price. Of course revenues continue to decline but if they could figure out how to stay flat than we could be in business here on this one.
