RE:RE:Aquisition mode. Hi Matt,
Yes Quarterhill near year high.
Yes no tax loss selling for Quarter hill for 2019.
I was generalizing on tax loss season for all stocks. Sometimes people sell to bank their capitol losses before year end and sometimes people sell stocks that at their highs for the year and move that money into other stocks. such as value plays.
Value plays/bargains are in the eye of the beholder. Sell high/buy low.
Again, Quaterhill stock price is rock solid.
I never said anything about special divident. Big difference between special/regular divident.
Quarterhill pays a quartely regular divident of .0125 cents per quarter. Not a lot, but better than nothing. When companies do well then tend to reward investors with increase in regular dividents. Everybody is happy.
Special Dividends and Traditional Dividends
While a special dividend is non-recurring, traditional dividends are usually more regular (e.g. monthly or quarterly). A company’s board of directors makes the decision to issue dividends over specific timeframes and payout rates. These could be in forms such as a stable dividend policy, target payout ratio, constant payout ratio, or residual dividend model.
What Is a Special Dividend?
A special dividend is a non-recurring distribution of company assets, usually in the form of cash, to shareholders. A special dividend is usually larger compared to normal dividends paid out by the company and often tied to a specific event like an asset sale or other windfall event. Special dividends are also referred to as extra dividends.
Having said that, be patient time will reward you.
