Depends upon your definition of "dead money" and your return expectations. I'm a retiree (6.5 yrs into it) and my wife and I live entirely off dividend income and my CPP & OAS. We only hold TSX listed dividedn income/growth stocks. No bonds, GICs, preferreds, etc.
We are actually quite happy collecting a 7% distribtuon that continues to increase each year.
If you wnat growth and higher risk, you should just sell and go elsewhere.
I actually still think the stock price will get to $30 in the future.
Each to his own.
As an aside, are you a millennial by any chance? Sort of sound like it with being impatient and wanting to be spoon-fed and wanting everything right now. :-)
