The presumption that oil is dead is just as outrageous as those that stated coal would be phased out almost immediately. Coal demand might have fallen in North America and Europe but the fall hasn't been enough to offset China, Southeast Asia and India. In terms of demand I am not concerned about it because poorer economies will be consuming fossil fuel for decades to come. What I am concerned about is one fact : large institutional shifting their portfolio from fossil fuel to "so called clean technology." No one can argue that companies like Husky, IMO, Cenovus are significantly undervalued but if large investors are shying away from them who will be left to buy ? Husky should be worth $20 but in today's environment seems like no one cares. Still holding significant shares but would be happy to offload them all at $15. Husky would be better to go private !
