RE:Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. Tony Makuch – President & CEO Kirkl- Sprott mentioned the name Abcourt... and said because it has a millbut he did not name "Sleeping Giant". It may fit the 500tpd from WM. But currently, it is used to process the ore from Elder mine at some small profit. It's a small mom and pop operation run by the CEO/founder who does not want to change much from his old way of doing things. He controls 1/3 of the OS, and may not be a good negotiator to deal with (most likely he does not want to sell). There is no debt, but the CEO/founder does not seem to be able to raise much money...$1 M at a time. Small mom/pop operation. Sprott does not have any investment in ABI (too small, and the stock is not liquid).
- Current mkt cap is around 20-25M depending on the fluctuation in SP. As indicated, the stock is not liquid. The company would be lucky to get some small premium, like 20-25%...Not a 20x.
- The founder is frugal and good at patching up old plant and has run the company for a small profit, but if he's replaced, the company may go downhill ... heading to bankrupcy. May be this would be the time to come in and buy the mill (SGM) for a song (which he did from a bankrupcy case, and did a good job fixing it). As far as WM is concerned, the SGM could be a stop gap measure (for a year or so), but transportation is still a big factor, over 100km trucking which will cut in the profit margin. Besides, they (KL, ES) may have a bigger scheme than some 500tpt...10x, 20x when they decide to put Fenelon into full-scale production.
- Some poster at ABI board has looked at the company BoD, and it seems that they don't have any heavy hitters, only people with not-so-relevant credentials and sitting at the Bod since 1979.
- The company does seem to care much about shareholders or potentential shareholders, e.g. it does not have any Corporate Presentation to introduce the company to investor. At leas, there is none under Investor Relations.
- Goldcross: Presumably you have posted the same post on ABI board to rally the troops there?
