"tech forecast"-National Post

"tech forecast"-National Post From the National Post, Sat., Jan. 6, 2001: "Richard Brandt writes in "Upside Today", the high-tech business publication, that the BlackBerry pager from Research In Motion Ltd. of Waterloo, Ont., will become so hot that it will begin to overshadow the popularity of the PalmPilot. "Venture capitalists are the best early adopters," Mr. Brandt writes, "and every venture capitalist I know has a BlackBerry." " This was from an article highlighting the results of an internet search of the heading "2001 Forecasts". The article lists "the top four best" of the search with regards to the internet in particular. In case anyone's curious, the other 3 were: 1. Goldman Sachs internet index has given up all of its 400%gain made between Oct. '98 and March,'00. Implies a sector bottom, to be followed by a sharp rally at some not-too-distant point. 2.A wave of dot-coms will actually report earnings in 2001, perhaps around 50. 3. Rim 4. Numerous analysts mention eBay as a good pick. Unassailable position in its field and valued at 20-times revenue per share-its cheapest ever.
