the statistics miss one imortant info, the number of tests executed.
that`s why the US numbers still don`t  look dangerous and alarming.
that`s different to our German situation.
Tests in our country are paid fully by health insurance whixh almost every citizens got.
Latest info on new infections seem to signal that with another two weeks of imposed personal restrictions re personal contacts could be managed by our well established healthcare system.

Allowing me to continue to wash me hands but change from drinking water to a good dry German wine.
