"Our strategy is to reduce debt"

"Our strategy is to reduce debt"As a shareholder, I always felt misled when management told us a high priority for them was to pay down debt.  Then either it was a trivial reduction or they bought more producing assets.

I wonder how BNP's bankers felt when BNP told them the same thing?  Or kept making excuses why the reduction was "soon ... the next thing we do ... honest."  It would make your banker look foolish with their bosses.  Not a good idea.  Bankers are people too.

Now we have a credit crunch, not just a low strip price in the nat-gas futures market.  What goes around comes around.  For this reason alone, I will not touch this company again, no matter how low the price goes, no matter how juicy the Federal bailout might be.
