Buddies with Moez? So you're saying that Geoff is good friends with a shorter that is trying to f'k him? Maybe they're buddies in a sense where Geoff is tell ing Moez to stop shorting because he is going to get screwed. I'm guessing "Geoff's buddy" was meant in a sarcastic way?
