Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

My initial post was to take exception to the comment that it was a "cost savings". Based on the nature of the grow business it is required and the capital expenditure is justified, but as a cost savings, show me the numbers

Cost justification for the co-gen was published over 2 years ago but the primary reason for installing them was Leamington did not have enough power supply to satisfy lighting and cooling requirements at Aphria One.  Hydro One has plans to increase service to the area but that project will not be complete till 2025.

Aphria calculated significant savings on power/heating/cooling costs but I do not remember the specific amount.  From the co-gen operation Aphria strips the CO2 from the exhaust to provide a CO2 rich environment to promote plant growth.  They could even be utilizing the CO2 for extraction purposes but I do not know that for certain.  But in the Covid world CO2 supplies have been tight.

The co-gen projects did cause delays in the completion of Aphria One and Aphria Diamond but without them, facility capacities would have been drastically reduced.

Those are the facts.  SEDAR has search functions for the older documents.  I remember information was buried in some MD &As.
