BMI had forecast supply at 572,000 tonnes for 2023, but now sees that number at 543,000 tonnes, with a shortfall of 8,000 tonnes. The company believes the deficit in later years will grow significantly.
For this year, BMI sees global lithium output reaching 324,000 tonnes, with demand for the metal slightly lower, at 315,000 tonnes.
How much raw material does a 30GWh LIB #Megafactory consume?
#Lithium - 25,000 tonnes
#Nickel - 19,000 tonnes
#Cobalt - 6,000 tonnes
#Graphite #Anode - 33,000 tonnes
30 GWh = 25,000 MT-LCE
Model Tesla 3 = 88 lbs lithium
Wishful thinking. The oversupply problem and drop in demand occured before covid-19 came about so it is much worse than you hoped for. With all the subsidies squashed it's nasty. Demand is about 280k and supply is 340k. This doesn't get corrected until 2025. Some reports, if you have seen the charts, indicate 2027 is when balance is finally reached. I've shown you these charts many times.
