"While many cannabis producers have started growing in large indoor facilities in order to be ready for the legalization of this drug in Canada, a handful have turned to field cultivation.

At the controls of the imposing machinery is an employee of 48North Cannabis, but not just any: the CEO Charles Vennat.
"I make jokes with my team saying that I am the most expensive agricultural labor force in southwestern Ontario," he says, adding that he always keeps a pair of boots in his car to be ready for his impromptu visits to the field.
"I have always had the leadership philosophy that you should never ask anyone to do a task in your business that you would not want to do yourself," said Mr. Vennat.

The big boss, who visits the farm every week during the hot season, was in his company's second outdoor cannabis plantation. This is a whole new trend among accredited producers."
